About Client

• An Australian SME with a CNC/MNC engineering factory and warehouse provides engineering & design of complex parts with CAD/CAM technology.
• Client capabilities included turning, milling, fittings, laser cutting, bending, breakdown works, automation, design & drafting.
• Business dealt with engineer to order, make to stock components and sourcing from third party suppliers.
• Managed enquiries & quotes, configured & designed basis requirements, had suppliers for parts manufacturing, and provided end customers configurable solutions.

Problem Statement

• Challenge client faced was having multiple excels used for its quote preparation and was having a very high turnaround time (TAT) to manage, finalize, and share quotes and close its sales orders.
• From getting an enquiry, registering, design establishment, configurations to specs order management, multiple complex calculations had to take place and client had to come up with right price & proposal quote, manage the quotes, manage the supplier & inventory orders, plan its capacity & supplies visibility, and generate quotes – all of these activities were done using Excels.
• Need of the hour for the client was to map and redesign its CPQ process, transform the manual process to an automated solution, and plan to adapt to CPQ ERP platform, or have a custom built solution for managing its CPQ process.
• Client had to eliminated high error prone and manual work which led to increased time to market
